Links to Manufacturers Of Supported Weather Stations
And Other Related Hardware

All web sites are very good and offer a range of services from information to purchasing as well as tech support.

Questech

Originally manufactured by Heathkit, Questech now manufacturers and supports the ID-5001 weather station.

Peet Brothers

Peet Brothers manufacturers the Ultimeter 100, 800 and 2100 weather stations.  Although the Ultimeter II, 500 and 2000 are discontinued, they still provide tech support as well as upgrades.

Davis Instruments

The Monitor II, Wizard, and Perception weather stations all use the same serial protocol and are therefore compatible with the WXN code.

Fascinating Electronics Observer

The hardware is a bit unusual (much of it uses PVC pipe), but holds up well. They have a variety of other items that might be of interest to the experimenter. One project in particular that I am pursuing is well worth the time looking into. Check out http://bub2.met.psu.edu/default.htm on information concerning the GP-1 Lightning Locator.

Kantronics Weathernode

The Kantronics Weathernode was one of the first of it's kind.  Limited support is available due to age of the product and the fact it has been discontinued.

Aware Electronics

This is the manufacturer of the RM-60 radiation monitor. Good instrument, good documentation, good support. Support for the RM-60 will be in the upcoming Linux release.

Rainwise, Inc.

While I don't support the Rainwise weather stations, the primary interest are the quality rain gauges they manufacturer.  Did you know they have a lifetime warranty on their rain gauges?  Believe me, they do honor it.  Very good company.  By the way, if there is enough interest, and the serial protocol is available, I could be persuaded to write a driver to support a Rainwise weather station.  Email me if interested.

Stormwise

This is the manufacturer of the EMP sensor my code supports.  There are a number of other interesting items in their catalog.  However, the only one that works with my code is the LSU-30 ($30.00).  The LSU-30 is electrically compatible with the LSU-2001/2002 units I have used.  A $7.00 S/H fee applies to the order.

TAPR

TAPR makes the T-238 weather station.  Although the primary target is APRS, it also has a data mode that suits itself to WXN.  Understand that TAPR only manufacturers the box that interfaces between the weather instruments and the computer.   The instruments (anemometer, temperature sensor, etc.) are avaliable from AAG which is listed below.

AAG

AAG is the company that manufactures the one-wire weather instruments used by the TAPR T-238.  To make a working weather station, you will need both the sensors from AAG and the T-238 box from TAPR. They also now feature a rain gauge add-on that allows using a "normal" rain gauges (available from Rainwise and others).
